MetalCore AMA

we hosted an amazing AMA with MetalCore on the 9th of December

And here we will put some of the best questions:

Q1. Can you please introduce yourself as well as MetalCore ?

My name is Dan Nikolaides, and I’m the CTO of Studio 369, the game developers behind MetalCore. MetalCore is a gaming metaverse focused on competitive faction-based territory wars and featuring large war machines (mechs, tanks, aircraft) as well as infantry. We plan to release an alpha of our first gaming experience in April 2022

Q2. What are the advantages of Your project ?

It seems like many crypto gaming projects are being developed by people experienced in crypto, but new to games. We are game developers first and foremost – our leads have 15+ years of experience developing games. And we plan to start with a real, hardcore game for gamers, fans of things like Battlefield 2042, Call of Duty, and Planetside 2. So we think we are pretty different from most other projects out there.

Q3. please tell us about the goal you want to achieve in this year.

In the next 6 months we plan to have our token launch, our nft drops, and an alpha playable of our game ready to share with our community. By the end of 2022 we want to have a full release, with persistent global territory war, PvP and PvE gameplay, and full economy supported from within our game

Q4. Every project has a story behind their name, Can you tell us more about the story behind this? Who are the team behind this project? can tell us their background?

This is a game we have wanted to make for a long time. Our main leads and founders (Matt Candler, Vic Lopez, and I) have decades of experience in the industry and we have worked on games like Mechwarrior 2, and Gears of War 3. We have always wanted to make a large scale, persistent shooter like Planetside 2. I personally have spent thousands of hours playing that game. And there hasn’t been anything like it on the market in the past 10 years. We want to make a new version, on the blockchain, for this environment. And we personally love the fictional world we have created.

And here we will put best questions from our members and MetalCore fans:

Q1. MetalCore is NFT blockchain gaming. But in terms of community, there is still a large audience in the gaming world that has yet to meet the crypto and blockchain industry. What are your plans to reach these people and make your voice heard by all gamers?

This is a big question that we have put a lot of thought into. We want to make a game that appeals to gamers. So we are going to address this in 2 major ways. 1) we are not going to require a wallet in order to play our game. You can login using an account, and play the game for as long as you want, without ever connecting your wallet. You only need to connect it after you want to withdraw tokens/nfts that you have found 2) You will be able to play the game without purchasing any NFTs. You will be limited to playing as infantry or using other player’s vehicles of course, but we think this will be a big benefit to people who are more interested in the game than the crypto, and who don’t have the money to pay big funds up front to play. The benefit of owning an NFT will be instant participating in Play to Earn economy, and much better earning rates, but you will be able to do these things slower without ever spending money on an NFT

Q2. I could not find your project whitepaper . Have you released it yet or not? How can I get more information about your project and what are your important social media links ?

Our whitepaper is going to be released within the next week on our website. You can get more info on our project from visiting https://www.metalcoregame.com and our discord server, https://discord.gg/metalcorenft – we are very active on discord and we have weekly AMAs and raffles/competitions for whitelist spots for our NFT drops!

Q3. Many games today have high entry fees and thus begin with a small player base. Is there an entry fee or starting conditions for MetalcoreNFT and if so, what are they? Do I need to have an NFT or a certain number of tokens to enjoy and play the MetalcoreNFT?

Our NFTs will be relatively inexpensive – we have been discussing internally a price of between 0.1 and 0.2ETH for our initial sales. We are also releasing on a Layer 2 EVM chain, so gas fees should be relatively low. In our alpha test build in April, you will be required to own an NFT to play. This is because we need to start small, and ensure that our servers can handle the players, and scale up slowly. But in our full release near the end of 2022, we will allow players to play without owning an NFT. You will be able to simply play as infantry as a Free To Play player, or you can join a Barony (guild) and pilot one of the vehicles they have available for use (like the Axie Scholarship system).

Q4. What are the main features of the “MetalCore” project and how was it developed? Where does its core competitiveness lie? What special features and advantages does it have to stand out in the game market?

We are going to have a persistent territory war playing out across a huge continent with land that players can own. Players will be able to pilot their vehicles or fight as infantry in 1st and 3rd person action combat. We are developing a real hardcore massively multiplayer first person shooter, but we are doing it in a simple way that makes it easy for us to develop but still achieves the excitement of a huge scale massive war between 3 factions. Players will be able to occupy each others’ land for bragging rights and to steal a share of their enemy’s income. We think this will be a huge motivation to drive the constant PvP gameplay that we are building into our design. We aren’t aware of any other crypto game that is currently planned with similar features, but we think we are well positioned to deliver a very high quality experience, given our background and our experience.

Q5. Many players are only interested in the price of tokens and NFTs without really paying attention to the real core value that the project brings. MetalCore how to make players understand the core value of NFT and tokens, make players hold and not sell them after playing?

Our plan is to develop a very fun game! We don’t want to make a crypto game that is only meant to promote NFT price – we want to put NFTs in our game that are super fun to play! We want to create a real gameplay demand for these NFTs – we want players who aren’t in it for the investment, but instead just want to play a fun game, to really want these NFTs and try to get them. Our plan is – make something that is so fun to play, that people don’t want to dump the NFTs!

Q6.I can see that MetalCore players can own “NFT land” to earn commissions from all the rewards earned on that land. Can you explain more about MetalCore NFT Land & how do I own the land? What about the price of this land? How much do we expect the land to cost when it goes on sale?

We will start with a 16x16km continent map. It will be subdivided into 1km x 1km plots of land. So there will be 256 Lands in the initial drop. We will later launch more continents, with more Land. The way Land works is if you own it, you earn a small percentage of any tokens that are earned on that Land by any players. So for instance, if I go and kill a PvE enemy on a bit of land, and earn 2 FAB tokens, the person who owns that land may earn 0.1 FAB tokens. Land can also be “conquered” in the territory war. This doesn’t mean the owner loses it, it just means one of the factions is occupying that land. For instance, if you are in the Metal Punks faction, and you own Land that is controlled by Metal Punks, you will earn double commission, so you will earn 10% of all token earnings by players instead of 5%. If the other faction conquers the land, you will want to take it back with your guild!

We plan on our initial Land sale happening sometime in the summer. We will likely have a requirement of some minimum amount of Governance Token holdings in order to participate in the land sale.

Q7.Revenue is a very important aspect for all projects to survive and maintain the project / company. What is the way to generate profit / revenue of token? What is the income model ?

Our revenue model is very simple. We have 2 tokens – a capped supply governance token, and an uncapped utility token that you can earn in the game as a reward, and also which you burn to do most things in game (like craft, merge NFTs, and repair things, etc). We will set aside a chunk of governance token for team tokens for future development. We will also take a small commission (5-10%) of all utility tokens burned from in-game actions in order to pay for operations costs.

Q8.Can you list a killer trait or traits of this project that put it ahead of its competitors? What competitive advantage does your business have that you feel most confident about?

One of the killer features that we think we have over others is the means of reducing our NFT supply. By this I mean, when you have 2 NFT vehicles of the same type, you can “merge” one into the other in order to level it up. This means we have a way of reducing supply of vehicle NFTs in our game. This is important because it allows us to stabilize our NFT market prices by doing simple things like making leveled up vehicles more/less powerful or increasing/decreasing the cost of merging. So we have a really great way to regulate the price of our NFTs and ensure we don’t have an oversupply.

At the same time, we will have crafting in the game, and we can increase the drop rate of ingredients and reduce crafting costs to ensure we don’t have an undersupply. So we have all the tools we need to have a long lasting regulated NFT economy.

Q9.🚀 I read that one of the goal of Metalcore is create an open world Gameplay game, so Metalcore will it be a 3D game ? Will it be possible play it from mobile devices?

The first version of MetalCore will be PC only. We will also port it to console. However, we will also start working on a smaller version of the game that will be playable on mobile devices. This game may play very similar to WarRobots, if you are familiar with this mobile game.

We will also start to develop completely new gameplay experiences for people who don’t like action games. We will likely develop something like a turn based strategy game, or a card battler, which will be easier to play on mobile devices and older PCs, as well as appeal to gamers who don’t like action.

Q10.How many team members do you have? Do they have enough experience in the field of blockchain? Do they have any experience working on an encrypted and unencrypted project?

We have a team of close to 40 members now, with lots of experience in game development and blockchain. Our game team are experts in UE4, which is what we are using to develop the game. We have worked at companies like Epic Games, Midway Games, Wargaming, and etc. Our blockchain team has a ton of experience as well – they are the developers behind Umbrella Network, AdChain, and Lucidity. So we basically have 2 teams coming together from the blockchain side, and the gaming side, to make this project. The design has been thought up from the beginning to be a blockchain powered game and we think we have a great plan for how to make it work.

And this was the end of our AMA with MetalCore.
